2017 Cinelli Saetta Tiagra Bike
here are superficially almost no straight lines on the Saetta, with each tube section seamlessly blending into the next. This creates a frame that is built with long-distance comfort and endurance racing in mind. The monocoque fork from the Columbus Lab insures sharp handling and steering accuracy. In combination with the stiff Miche Reflex wheelset, the Saetta is an excellent climber.
All the tube's sections of the main triangle increase according to the size of the frame for greatest efficiency and ride quality. Material savings from top tube and seat stays are redistributed to the bottom bracket area, producing a relatively high level of stiffness relative to weight, while maintaining strong and certain progressive handling.
Suitable for the advanced amateur rider, the comfortable, compact sloping geometry will see you through the toughest of Sportives and other events. The frame is predrilled to accommodate an upgrade to an electronic groupset. Also available in size XS, perfect for riders with standover height issues.
Skeletal Efficiency Philosophy:
The top tube is reinforced at the edges and is thinner at the centre, just like the bones of a human skeleton. This principle reduces the weight of the bike without compromising its strength. The new 1-1/8' - 1-1/4' oversized head tube increases the stiffness in the front part of the frame.
Progressive Flexion Control:
The curvature of the rear seat stays continues into the top tube, giving continuity to the carbon fibres, improving lamination and achieving progressive flexion control for a more fluid and safe ride.
The joints of the frame are the zones subjected to the most strain when the bike is being ridden. The bottom bracket area is a good example. These areas are dimensioned to minimise the forces acting on the frame, extending its life and increasing its reliability.
